Winnifred Van Monaco CGC, AD

All of us at the Atlanta Dog Squad would like to congratulate Winnifred Van Monaco CGC, AD and her mom, Michelle, for earning their Agility Dog title (AD) in June 2008.

Winnie and Michelle train at Sirius Dog Agility in Decatur where Michelle is also a training assistant.

Dog agility is a sport in which a handler is given a set amount of time in which to direct a dog off-leash through an obstacle course. Originally loosely modeled on equestrian stadium jumpers competitions, the sport has evolved its own additional obstacles, scoring systems and performance ideals.

Winnie has also earned her Canine Good Citizen (CGC) designation. CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. Click here to learn more about the CGC program.

Michelle adopted Winnie, formerly known as Squad Dog Sandy, from ADS in June of 2006.

This regal Yellow Lab has also graced the pages of ADS' 2008 Year of the Retriever Calendar.

Way to go Winnie!
