Bitsy - Adopted 7/22/2008

Pretty Bitsy and her New Family

I just wanted to let you all know that Bitsy is doing great! My husband and I adopted her on July 22-- I remember the date exactly because it was the day after our 1st anniversary-- what a great day to add to our family!

She had her follow-up check up last week to be sure she was heart worm free-- and passed with flying colors! We celebrated by heading to the dog park to make some new friends and play ball!

Bitsy enjoyed her first parade (to our knowledge) today at the Roswell Youth Day parade, and was a hit! She made friends with a Labradoodle that we sat near as the parade went by, and realized that she does not like marching bands with bass drums that stop right in front of us-- but that hiding behind her mommy and daddy kept her safe!

She has been great with kids, and a Bichon and Chihuahua, and our cat has even warmed up to her! Now, if we can just get her used to the blow dryer and vacuum! Thank you for helping us find Bitsy. She has made our lives so much sweeter!

Bianca - Adopted 7/12/2008

Bianca and Her New Best Friends

In a letter to Bianca's foster family, from her new family:

Hi Andi

I wanted to send you an update on Bianca. She has adjusted very well. The whole family adores her. She is gentle with the kids and they love her so much.

The baby doesn't want to nap, go outside, go to a different floor of the house, etc without her "Anca."

She minds well and is a great traveling partner. We take her everywhere we can. I even take her to friends houses if they don't mind. We have 2 neighbor dogs ( one on each side ). She has a playdate with one of them everyday so she can get her doggie friend time. If we have to be gone in the afternoon time my good friend and neighbor comes to get Bianca and takes her to play with her dog for me.

It's hard to put into words just how much we love, like, adore her. She checks on the kids at night before she goes to bed with me. She kisses and snuggles with them in the morning when they wake up. She rides to preschool in the mornings. She goes to the park with us and for walks on the trails. She's only outside when we are (because the baby goes to the door and calls her if she goes without us).

We have a great routine and Bianca is very happy here.

I have attached a recent picture. I won a photography session and a 16x20 picture at a great studio. I took Bianca to get her pics taken with the girls. The large one is beautiful. But to large to scan. Here is a fun one. I hope you and your family are doing well.

Take Care

Melisa

Benny - Adopted 6/25/2008

Benny's made lots of new friends!

We recently got another letter from Benny's family:

Hello!

We were not able to make the event last week, but we wanted to send you some new pictures of Benny. He has had a great time playing at the Brook Run dog park in Dunwoody with my sister's dog Lulu and her friends' dog Stanley. He also loves to play with our neighbors' Boxer puppy Tara. They sit by the fence and nuzzle each other almost every day. They get a lot of play time together running around in the back yard wrestling and playing with sticks. His favorite outside toys are a soccer ball and a plastic watering can. He carries the watering can around by its handle - it's really funny!

Benny loves the air conditioning vent and we have a fan nearby. You'll see a picture with Benny upside down on the vent. He sleeps like this a lot! He gets the vent on his back and the fan blows across his belly!

Everybody loves his little ears and collie face. He's quite a handsome fellow!

Bullit (now Rocco) - Adopted April 2006

  Wanna go for a swim?

In an email to ADS:

Just wanted to fill you in on Rocco, Formally Bullit. All is well, he just turned 7 and we've celebrated his birthday all week.

In March we moved up to Connecticut where he is absolutely loving it. We are close to the water and he has been doing a lot of swimming, he also loves going for rides on his boat.

I am excited to introduce him to the snow this winter, I think he will love that too. So anyhow just wanted to thank you all again and keep you updated.

Take Care- Paul

Buster and Ike (now Jake and Mike) - Adopted 2007

Jake and Mike

In a letter to the Atlanta Dog Squad:

Just wanted to let you all know how wonderful both of our boys are, I just don't even know how we could have lived with out either of them! We are coming up on a year since we adopted Buster, now Jake and I can't tell you how much happiness he has brought us, he has so much personality and is so smart, we used the crate we bought him for 1 night.

Jake is definitely the protector of the house, any squirrel that gets near beware, he enjoys chasing them all out of the yard and one day he will catch one!! He is always at the door to greet us with something in his mouth, I always wonder what he will bring me when I get home! Jake loves the camera, I think he actually poses, I just can't stop taking pictures of him! After a few months with Jake we realized that even though he had his dog park friends and his daycare friends he was missing the companionship that only a brother could give him so after his 1st birthday we got him what he really wanted, a brother!

Ike, now Mike, would have to be the best dog. He took some time to adjust to life on the "inside" but has gotten quite comfortable sleeping right in the middle of my husband and I every night, he loves to cuddle! He really had some things to work on and looking back I can't believe my sweet mellow Mike was ever Ike that I brought home back in April, but all it took was lots of love, some patience and attention.

He had to use the crate for a while, but learned fast. Mike has to be the most loving, sweet, adorable dog and I can't imagine anyone not wanting him in their life. Everyone that meets him falls in love. He is pretty clumsy sometimes and falls over his own feet trying to catch Jake in the back yard, but get him in some water and watch him go!!! Mike loves swimming and goes whenever possible, even if it for a dip in the creek in the back yard, he just can't resist water!!

Jake and Mike couldn't be more different, Jake is the independent one that will go and explore, while Mike would just rather be where ever you are and when he is outside all he wants to do is play fetch. Jake likes to steal Mike's ball and make him run around the yard to try and get it back, just like an older brother!!

They are truly a part of our family and I don't even remember our house with out them......although I know it had less hair! Both Jake and Mike are a perfect fit for us, they have left their old lives as Buster and Ike in the past and now look forward to a life of lots of treats, big birthday parties, swimming and lots of naps on their king size bed that they sometimes let us sleep on too! Thank you so much to ADS for finding them so they could find us!

Amanda and Bradley
