Dawn (now Dee) - Adopted in April 2010

Spa days, tennis balls, and a boy of her own to love...

In an email from Dawn's new family to her foster mom:

Dee (sometimes Dee Dee, sometimes Double D...all that stuff)...(formerly Dawn) is fitting in quite well. The pictures don't really need an explanation, just follow the titles and you will see what she has been up to.  She has absolutely found her forever home.....she is awesome!

Thank you all for everything,

Chris, Michelle and Paul (and Dee)

"Boy and his dog"

"Sweet Girl (and boy)"

"Day at the spa...I'm pretty!"

"But...not too pretty to play!"

"Oh Yeah...love my ball!"

Jazzy (formerly Squad Dog Angie) - Adopted in February 2010

Who needs a dog bed when you can just sleep with the people?

A letter to an ADS volunteer from Angie's new family...

Hi Susan,

All is well here at the Hayes house. I have Jazzy (Angie's new name) and Higgins both lying at my feet right now while I work. They are getting along beautifully! We let JJ decide on the name for Angie and he picked Jazzy. She is still learning her new name but seems to already answer to it really well.

I just got back from our vet with a quick check-up of Jazzy and to buy her heartworm medicine. The vet thought she was one good looking dog! And I have to agree.

She has settled into life here very quickly. It's obvious she was a bed-sleeper in her previous home because she jumped right up in bed with JJ and slept the whole night through. JJ couldn't be more thrilled. And she is a very good leash walker. She and I have been busting a move through Windermere getting some good exercise and she is a very good girl on the leash.

There were so many wonderful dogs at the adoption event on Saturday. Jason initially liked Skye and Rolo, but we quickly decided that Jazzy (Angie) would settle into our home the best and be the easiest companion for Higgins due to her very calm and sweet personality. We couldn't be happier. Thank you to you and all the Dog Squad volunteers who have been so wonderful throughout the process. Jazzy and Higgins thank you, too!

I've been trying to get some good photos of them the last couple of days but don't have a perfect one just yet. I'll send good ones along as soon as I can! In the meantime, here are a couple quick shots from yesterday.

Susan
