Meet Squad Dog Ashley - a 8 year old, female Yellow (Vanilla) Lab. Animal Control caught Ashley in a trap at a local park. We think Ashley was used for breeding and turned loose by her owners once they were done breeding her. Ashley is a happy girl whose tail is in constant wag-mode. She's very loving and is looking for someone to help her make up for years of neglect. Ashley does well with other dogs.
Update from Ashley's foster family:
Ashley's a very good older girl who enjoys company and loves to happily greet you at the door when you come home. She likes to roll around on her back and make snorting noises!! Oh and lets not forget she is 100% Labby so she loves her food - and yours! We think her favorite food is bread because any time she gets the chance she'll walk off with the whole loaf!! But most of the day she prefers to snooze near the window with the warm sun shining on her. In fact she sleeps so soundly that when she starts to snore, we sometimes think a freight train is coming!
Probably because of her neglectful past, Ashley does experience separation anxiety and will do best in a home where someone is with her much of the time. She doesn't do well on stairs or getting into cars because of her arthritis - but she wants to hang out with her people. She absolutely loves to give and receive affection; and she’s great with other dogs and cats too. Ashley is the best foster dog we ever had. She is a wonderful, gentle girl with a personality out of gold.
