SquadDog Chelsea

Meet Chelsea, a very sweet black Lab mix who found herself in a scary predicament. You see, Chelsea was found beside the road with a broken pelvis, unable to move. She was picked up by animal control and taken to an area shelter. A plea went out to help Chelsea and we couldn't resist the look on her face -- even though we knew her recovery time might be lengthy. This girl is such a trouper. Even though she was in horrendous pain, she never curled her lip, bared her teeth or growled at the people trying to help her. She's resting comfortably now, and continues to exhibit such a great temperament. Everyone who meets her comments on how sweet she is. Chelsea is probably around 18 months old and has the most beautiful black coat. Her injuries may require surgery -- but we are committed to helping Chelsea get a clean bill of health, so that she can find a home where people will take good care of her and love her. A place where she will never have to be afraid again.

Update: Chelsea has totally recovered and is doing wonderfully! She's also put on some healthy weight and is absolutely striking! She has really turned out to be one beautiful girl. She's also become a master squirrel chaser. And she's so fast that, watching her, you'd never guess she'd ever had a broken pelvis. She loves to play with other dogs and even enjoys snuggling up near them when it's time to rest. Her foster mom says she is very sweet, eager to please and is so very smart, that is will be difficult to let her go. But Chelsea is more than ready for a family of her very own and she's anxious to start her new life!
