Duchess and her two-week-old puppies were abandoned at a high-kill shelter in North Georgia. We just couldn't turn our backs on this beautiful 2 year-old Golden\Lab mix when we heard her story, so we rushed to help her and her tiny, nursing babies. Her puppies grew strong, were weaned and have been accepted into a rescue program.

Now it's Duchess' time to find a loving home of her own. Although she was an absolutely amazing mommy, no more litters for her! It's all about Duchess from now on! Her foster mom says she is very calm and loving with wonderful maternal tendencies. All she wants is to to be loved and wanted, and to be an integral part of a family. She's on the small side and is also house-trained. Duchess does tend to bolt out open doors, so she'll need a home dedicated to ensuring her safety.
