This little gal is full of love and snuggles and silliness. Emily was picked up as a stray and no one came looking for her. She sat none-too-patiently at the shelter and chased her tail in her run trying to entertain herself. When someone would walk by she'd stand up on her back legs and beg them to take her with them. When we got her out to play she ran circles around the yard, chased a ball a couple times and then bounced into our volunteer's arms for some love. She was so happy to get to play outside and so grateful to have a friend to spend time with she could hardly contain herself. This special little girl is only around six months old. She does love to play but she also enjoys snuggle time and being held.
Emily's Big Day Out with Tracy!
I had the pleasure of taking Emily to Waggy World at Wills Park. She immediately ran up to three little girls sitting on a bench and jumped in their laps. They had a huge yellow lab, so they and their mom worked on "Off, Emily" - and she caught on very quickly!
Going to the dog park with Emily must be like dating a supermodel - I became invisible. No one paid any attention to me, other than to ask her name. If another human hunched down and called his/her dog, Emily ran to them for love, too. She chased balls, ran and played with the other dogs, and got along great with everyone. After an hour and a half, I was cold and hungry, but this little heartbreaker still wanted to play. She definitely loves kids and got along great with dogs her size all the way up to a great dane, but was a bit much for a couple of the smaller dogs.
Sweet Emily is working on learning her name, responds well to positive feedback, and rode well in the car. She quickly figured out I was "her" person, and started coming to me when I called her. And, she's on the small side - perfect for cuddling!
