SquadDog Mia

This is Mia. Her human daddy was in a terrible accident and was seriously injured. He had to be hospitalized for a long time. Everyone held out hope that things would get better and he'd be able to take care of his doggie kids again.

Unfortunately, after several months, he died leaving Mia and her doggy brothers with no place to go but the shelter. The shelter staff asked us to please help because they saw that Mia was a sweet and special girl, and that she deserved a second chance at a happy life.

When we heard of her dilemma, we went to meet her. Although her situation was pretty grim (she'd been given only hours to live because she'd been in the shelter way too long) she was cheerful and happy to just be with us. She happily greeted all of the shelter visitors that walked past her. And she tried to leave with anyone and everyone heading for the door!

When we told the shelter's rescue coordinator that Mia would be leaving with us, she cried because she was so happy that Mia would be okay. That's how special she Mia is. She's a little sad because she misses her family, but she's eager to make new friends. This is one sweet, happy and deserving girl. Mia is three years old and house-trained.
