Watch Tyler's Video
When we went to pick up our litter of 8 Golden mix puppies from the shelter, we ran into this kid. His owner was just turning him in - she couldn't keep him. Everyone was upset... his owner, our volunteers and especially Tyler. The little fellow was just terrified. He was so scared he couldn't stop shaking and he was literally yelping in fear when they took him into the shelter.
We just couldn't leave him there! We squeezed him into our transport car and he too was on his way to the vet like the other lucky 8 babies. This boy is special. He has a sensitive soul and it was just crushed when he was left at the shelter. He'll need some extra love and tenderness to teach him people aren't all bad... and that it's okay to trust and love again. He's coming out of his shell now with help from several volunteers and his eight new puppy buddies.
He is a true love-bug. So if you've been looking for the perfect puppy to add to your family, Tyler is ready and waiting for you. Tyler is a Lab-Shepherd mix - about 4 months old.
UPDATE 10/26/06: Tyler has become a confident and happy liitle guy. He is outgoing with other dogs and people but he enjoys being with people more than anything. He's the kind of dog that will become your best buddy.
He's about 6 months old, crate trained and good in the house. We don't expect Tyler to get too much larger than he is right now, so if you're looking for something in the "really snuggly and fun but not too large" category, Tyler is the perfect size to fulfill just about any hug.

He is also very active and we feel he requires at least one additional playful dog in his new home.
Tyler has grown up to be just the cutest Golden Retriever ever! Okay... so he doesn't look anything like one and he's too small to be a Golden and... okay... his parents weren't Goldens, but that doesn't really mean much. He spent his first 2 months as a Squad Dog living with a group of Golden pups. Then he moved into a foster home with several Goldens. He might not have Golden Retriever in his bloodline, but he's picked up all the best characteristics of being one - he's an awesome retriever, he loves people and other dogs, he lives to snuggle, he's a lot of fun to play with and he truly loves his family. So, when you meet this sweet boy, please don't tell him he's not a Golden... we haven't told him yet.
