Athena is a beautiful Flat Coated Retriever/Border Collie mix with the personality and brains of both breeds. She's only a year old and hasn't had a lot of socialization but Athena is absolutely thriving in her foster home. Her first year of life was spent chained in a backyard without any human contact. She didn't even know about a water bowl; she had to go wading in the creek when she was thirsty. She's still very timid around people but absolutely loves her canine and feline foster siblings.
She loves to run with the other dogs in the backyard or just sit on the porch and marvel at how good it feels to have a real home where food and clean water are found in bowls... and where there's a soft bed at night. Athena's a very smart and well-behaved girl who has been given free run of her foster home during the day and is allowed to sleep with the other dogs in the doggie beds in the bedroom. If you have a quiet home and a little patience for this timid little girl who is learning to love, be sure to meet Athena.
