SquadDog Bocephus

Bocephus is a very nice, easy-going boy. We don't really know a lot about his past, but we do know that this 2 year old seems to be very inexperienced with things most dogs and people take for granted. He doesn't know what to make of new things... like cars and trucks, men and odd noises. He has definitely led a very sheltered life. But Bo is very smart and he learns very quickly, so all he needs is a little time to get used to new stuff. For instance, he’ll slowly approach the thing that is new to him - like a scary lawn ornament - and once he checks it out, he's totally fine with it.

Bo is very gentle and walks well on a leash. He's also a major cuddle-bug. He has a ton of potential and will be a wonderful addition to a patient and loving family.

Update from Bocephus' foster mom:

This guy is just the sweetest boy I've ever had and I can't speak highly enough about him! Whatever he has been through in his past, it has not affected his sweet, gentle nature. He warmed up to us immediately; he just wants to be loved and petted. He was a little hand-shy with my husband for all of one minute, and then he was waiting to be petted and loved. He's very affectionate and mild-mannered. And when you give him a snack, he takes it ever so gently out of your hand! He loves other dogs and I can't imagine that he'd hurt a cat. He follows us everywhere and wants to be wherever we are. He thinks he's a lap dog!!

Other than getting used to things that are new to him - like outside sounds - he's just an awesome boy. He doesn't pull on the leash when walking - although he will pull away from sounds that aren’t familiar. With exposure, that behavior should go away soon enough.

I can't say one bad thing about him. His desire to please and the fact that he's a smart dog will make him very easy to train. He's the quintessential Lab with all of the good qualities Lab lovers desire. He deserves a wonderful home with lots of love and attention.
