SquadDog Graham

Did you ever have a job you just didn't enjoy? Well, Graham didn't like his job, and not only did he get fired ... he got taken to doggy jail - without a trial! You see, Graham was training to be a police dog and was supposed to be gung-ho about searching out various objects and smells. But playing, snuggling and being goofy were much more entertaining to him. “Less work, more fun” is his motto.

The police dog trainers didn't find Graham’s attitude about work very amusing, so they remanded him into custody of a shelter. The only thing this poor boy is guilty of is wanting to play rather than find contraband!

While Graham might not be good at finding illegal objects, he found our bag of treats immediately when we met him. He ran to the other side of the yard, carefully picked up the entire opened treat bag and politely brought them to us so he could have some. Most dogs would have eaten them immediately - bag and all. We bailed him out and now he's a Squad Dog.

Graham is around 18 months old, has been through all the basic training plus a little more … and he’s house-trained too! We think he's perfect. What do police dog trainers know anyhow - not everyone wants to be a Police Officer when they grow up! We are confident that Graham will be a success at his next job - Best Friend Forever.
