Twas the week before Christmas, and this awesome young Lab/shepherd mix was not only stirring -- but running down a busy road in the metro area. As he hit a busy intersection, he caused such a fright that a kindly good Samaritan sprung out of the car to save him from certain disaster.
When ADS heard the story, we wanted to help both the dog (we call him Klaus for obvious reasons) and the hero who took him into his home. Klaus made himself at home, playing with the children and getting along great with the dogs. But since it's not only the season for good deeds, but also for travelling, ADS agreed to help the good Samaritan by taking Klaus and promising to find him a permanent home where he could spend future holidays.
We estimate Klaus to be 1-2 years old and about 80 pounds. Like his namesake, he is one jolly fellow eager to meet everyone he sees. It's easy to see that Klaus still has some youthful energy, but he's not a full-throttle kind of guy. In fact, he was content to lie down in the lobby of the vet's office after making sure he had said hello to everyone in the room. We can't say enough good things about this boy, who deserves a family that will treat him like it's Christmas all year long.
