Minnie is just too darn pretty to have wound up homeless and in a shelter. She’s a medium-sized, 2-year-old Retriever mix with a lovely black coat and a great personality. When we first met her in the shelter, she was a bit unsure of her surroundings. But within minutes she had her tail up and was exploring with confidence.
She obviously had some past training because of her pleasant demeanor and wonderful manners. She happily sits very nicely treats. She also walks very well on a leash, although we must admit that when we told her she was leaving the shelter to become a Squad Dog, she pretty much dragged our two volunteers out the door and into the car… where she rode quite nicely for the ride back to Atlanta.
Minnie’s tail is usually wagging and she loves to be petted and told she's a pretty girl. She’s quite affectionate and she’ll stick to her people like glue… following them everywhere. She’s very engaging and will snuggle in your lap, if offered the opportunity. She’s very eager to share affection without being pushy or demanding, and she’s very happy to receive some love in return. Being this wonderful just out of the shelter, imagine how she’ll blossom in your loving home!
Update:
Minnie absolutely would rather be snuggling on the couch with her people than doing other things. She is really quite the social, personable young lady. You would expect "Very Truly Yours" to be right above her signature.
Minnie seems to be fine with cats – has no reaction to them. Her activity level is medium. She knows "Come" and responds to a whistle. She really likes exploring in the backyard, prances around and then checks back in with you. She is very happy hanging out in the house, going on walks and adventures, including shopping. But snuggling is her favorite.
