O'Neil is a very lucky and very special boy. His guardian angel just happened to be at a rural high-kill shelter when he arrived in the trunk of a car! And, yes, the trunk lid was closed! This nice looking 4-year-old Lab had taken up with a pack of stray dogs near a country house and the owner decided he just couldn't stay. He'd been running free with no home of his own and it seems that's all he's ever known.
After receiving treatment for some medical issues, O'Neil is now healthy and working hard on his indoor and social skills. He likes other dogs but doesn't really understand yet how to chase or wrestle with them. He's great with people - preferring to snuggle rather than play. He likes to crawl up beside you, bury his head under you arm and flip over to get his belly rubbed.
O'Neil is a stocky 60 lbs and just as cute as can be. He still needs some work on his leash walking but he'll thrive with basic obedience training. He new family will need to understand that he's still polishing up his housebreaking. They'll need to patiently work with him, realizing that indoor life and socializing are still new experiences for him.
