SquadDog Percy

Percy is a pleasant and calm boy. And he’s pretty darn smart too. He’s around 2 years old and very well behaved overall - except that he doesn’t enjoy being kenneled. He doesn’t have barking fits or anything in his kennel. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t bark much at all. He just opens the kennel latch and lets himself out! While boarding, the staff has frequently found him out and about, saying “hi” to everyone else in the other runs. We guess he’s just got a thing for large open spaces.

Percy has a super sweet personality and he’s very affectionate. He likes to rest his head on you when he’s ready for some love. He’s good with other dogs and he loves people of all kinds. Percy is looking for a loving home with a tall fence and latches that lock solidly.

Update from Percy's foster mom:

Percy just loves to be petted and brushed. He is shy and a little skittish if you move too quickly towards him, so sometimes you have to go slow so as not to scare him. Once he trusts you, he is much more brave and loves to be with you. He comes when you call him, which is great. He’s great with the kids and seems to really like them. If they get too loud and rambunctious, he’ll just leave the room.

Percy responds very well to positive reinforcement. He’s very smart and picks up on new things quickly. On walks, he’s great on a leash and he wants to greet everyone to say “hello”. He’s submissive with other dogs and is learning how to play with them. He’s a very nice boy.
