SquadDog Phoebe

Phoebe likes to give kisses and, like all girls, she really enjoys being told she's pretty. She rides well in the car and is great with other dogs. She was picked up as a stray by animal control. Her owner was called and came in to reclaim her, but when her owner was told she had to pay a reclaim fine, she decided she didn't want Phoebe anymore. In this rural facility, this was basically a death sentence for Phoebe. Luckily, an ADS volunteer met Phoebe and fell in love with her. Phoebe is a wonderfully nice girl who deserves a family that will love her forever.

Update from Phoebe's foster mom:

Phoebe had just finished heartworm treatment when she moved in, so we had to keep her relatively calm for the first month. We assumed that would be a difficult task since young Retrievers are usually pretty active and Phoebe is only about 3-years-old. But it difficult wasn't at all! Phoebe is a calm girl. She adapts well to whatever is going around her. Whether our human and canine friends are coming and going, we're having a quiet night with a movie, or just spending a "normal" night (with our 4-year-old dancing around the house while I'm doing the mom-multitasking-dinnertime thing), Phoebe is happily along for the ride. When her canine friends want to play, Phoebe jumps right in. And if our senior Lab is too tired or achy to play, Phoebe is just as content to chill with the family. She's just happy being part of what’s going on... and she's patiently waiting to find a forever family of her very own. She’s an awesome family dog.
