SquadDog Pogo

Watch out for this little thief! Pogo will steal your heart! At least, he sincerely hopes so. This wonderful boy was surrendered to a shelter after being neglected by his owner. You should have seen how long his nails were when we picked him up! They curled under, making it painful just to walk. He was pretty thin too. But Pogo holds no grudges. He loves everyone immediately and openly. He's a nice-sized boy. His 68 lb frame could use another 5 or 10 lbs to look totally fit. He's got a good bit of energy too for a 6 year old. He jumped right up into the back of our volunteer's SUV with no problems and looked at her as if saying, "What are you waiting for lady? Let's go!" He's a great boy - just look at those soulful eyes. Pogo is seeking a family that will feed him well, clip his nails regularly and love him forever.

Update from Pogo's Foster Mom:

Pogo is a very nice dog. He does have a fair amount of energy for a six year old. He's very energetic- more like an 18 month old. He does settle down nicely though. He's curious and really likes to explore. He wants to play with other dogs, but is respectful of their preferences. So if they don’t want to play, he respects their wishes. His approach to dogs is very friendly and dog savvy. He reads signs from other dogs well. He likes toys and he loves treats. Most of all he enjoys being petted. He is house-trained and uses the dog door, does his business and returns forthwith. He's wonderfully affectionate and likes to stick right by your side. Pogo is a very optimistic, happy boy.
