Ranger is a very special, sweet and loving boy. He arrived at a rural animal shelter with what appeared to be painful burns and scrapes on his underside. No one is sure what actually happened to him, but everyone that meets him notices that he’s something special.
Ranger is only around two years old. And through his pain and discomfort, this extraordinary boy has been nothing but an affectionate and gentle trouper. He feels a little better every day now and he seems truly appreciative of those that care for him. He’s recovering very well now and is eager to find a loving home where no one will ever hurt him again.
Update:
This boy has it all! First and foremost, he has a sweet, affectionate temperament. Ranger loves everyone he meets and he gets along great with my two Labs. He is house and crate-trained and he loves to fetch and run around our yard at break-neck speeds. Inside he's calm and happy to lie at (or on) your feet. After our nightly walk, he plops into his crate for a good snooze, then gets up refreshed and ready for a good tummy rub. Although he's a good size, he considers himself a lap dog and we've had some laughs as I try to push the big lug off of my lap - or my toes!
It was obvious to us that Ranger has never been walked or taught any commands, so we've been working on those . The leash training has gone very well and he now "sits" nicely. Because he's smart and eager-to-please, he has responded well to positive training. This great guy will do well with an active family, maybe one with children, an active ( brisk walking or running) adult and another dog to play with. He will probably do just as well as an only dog since he loves attention. Since he's a young, energetic dog, he needs exercise - and frequent play-dates with other dogs since he seems so happy to have buddies.
