SquadDog Waffle

Waffle is an eager-to-please family dog with a super friendly personality. An animal control officer brought this super thin boy to an emergency clinic where, due to a severe injury, his tail had to be docked. We really aren't sure what exactly happened to this handsome 2 year old, but it certainly has not affected his positive outlook on life.

Waffle's a happy, cheerful boy that loves to be with people. Actually, he seems simply delighted all the time. His main goals in life appear to be to make you happy and to have fun. If he has the choice of playing and eating, he'd rather play. And he doesn't turn down any offers of affection either. Waffle will make an awesome addition to one very special family.

Update from Waffle's foster mom:

Waffle is a friend to all. He likes people and other dogs. Cats too. He is all Retriever all the time. He is all about toys. He frequently carries around one or two toys in his mouth, just in case they are needed. He loves to play with toys and chew on bones, especially antlers. His three favorite games are: fetch, fetch and fetch. He also enjoys tug of war, chase and keep away. He is housetrained and does not need a crate. He is a counter cruiser though. Butter, beware! He enjoys his meals but really prefers to play, so sometimes he forgets to finish dinner. He loves rawhides and greenies. He loves to snuggle if he can't convince you to play. He is good in the house and will watch Wheel of Fortune, Antiques Roadshow or whatever you'd like to watch contentedly beside you. He is a bit of a velcro dog and tends to stay close when people are around. He likes to be underneath my desk when I work.

He is learning to walk on a leash (not so good at it at this time). He is neither an alpha dog nor a submissive dog- he does watch other dogs for signals and tries to abide by the rules. He sometimes forgets himself during three-way tug of war with his foster brothers. He likes water in any form- pond, lake, pool and bowl. He may make the water bowl Olympics team if there is one. He specializes in doggie paddle.

He likes children, but is a little enthusiastic, so may not be appropriate for a family with toddlers. Most of all he is a happy, happy guy - what he lacks in a tail he makes up for in shoulder-on-down wagging.
