Biscuit and Bama are quite the pair. They were picked up by Animal Control when their owner died, and because there was no next of kin to take them in, they found themselves in a pretty rough spot. We feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to make these boys Squad Dogs. They are housetrained, great with other dogs and pretty darn mellow. They’re wonderful and they’re looking for a home where they can stay together.
Bama, at 8-years-old, is the oldest of these brothers. He’s an absolutely adorable Basset Hound… a little shy, but in a very endearing sort of way. He can generally be found standing under Biscuit. He uses his brother like his own personal umbrella of protection. The funny thing is that Bama is a decent sized boy himself. He just fits nicely below his much larger pal. He seems especially appreciative of people who are careful with his long ears and who talk to him nicely. He has the most wonderful smile if you’re able to coax it out of him. He really stole the heart of one of our volunteers when she met him at the shelter.
Seven-year-old Biscuit can only be described as an Extra Large Lab. If there was such a thing as a Pony Lab, he’d be one. He’s extremely tall; the size of a Great Dane… and his head is just tremendous. And did we mention he weighs 122 pounds and doesn’t have an ounce of fat on his body? We guess it’s his height, but for some reason he seems to bring out the angry side of some little dogs. They’ll go crazy when they seem him – barking and getting all silly. But Biscuit doesn’t care a bit; he doesn’t get riled up at all – or ever it seems. He’s Mister Mellow. He just casually looks at whoever is making all the noise and he seems to be wondering what all the fuss is about.
If you have lots of room in your heart for two incredible canines, these are the boys to meet. You’ll just need to make sure you have lots of room in your house too.
