SquadDog Blondie

Seven-month-old Blondie is an extra sweet and special Golden mix. She’s had a rough time of it during her short life, including winding up in an animal control facility and being burned by a heating pad that went ‘haywire’ during her spay operation at the shelter.

Blondie has a very pretty, very blonde coat and the burns along her back are almost completely healed. She’ll probably have some mild scarring but her long hair covers it all up pretty well. She says she feels lovely and we have to admit she does. She’s fairly shy but still quite gentle and loving. Sweet Blondie is ready to find her very own loving, permanent home.

Update from Blondie's foster mom:

When Blondie first moved she was quite timid. She has improved greatly and gets more confident every day. She appears to have spent most of her short life outside but is adjusting nicely to indoor life. She loves to stretch out under a tree and munch on a chewy. And she enjoys wrestling and playing Keep Away with her foster brothers. She’s great with other dogs and she will probably do best with another doggy in her home so that her confidence continues to grow.

Blondie loves to play ball- soccer, tennis balls, etc. If you don’t have time to play with her, just hand her two tennis balls and watch her have some fun. She’ll throw the balls, chase them…and try to carry both around at the same time. If she can’t quite get both in her mouth, she’ll take turns picking up and moving them a few feet at a time. She also loves water.

Blondie’s a sweet girl and she loves affection. She is doing exceptionally well with her housetraining and is good about chewing on her things, not yours. She settles into her crate nicely if she has something to do while in it – a food-stuffed Kong or her favorite rawhide chew – and she’ll let you know with a little whine if she needs to go out. She’s a very precious girl.
