SquadDog Dandy

Six-month-old Lab and Shar Pei mix pups Mugsy, Bethany, Wesley and Dandy were abandoned along with their mom when their owners moved from their rented home. They were all in pretty rough shape when we were asked to help them. We’ve gotten them all taken care of vetting-wise – all healthy and clean and feeling good - and now they’re learning that people can be the source of lots of love and affection. They hadn’t had much human interaction prior to becoming Squad Dogs, but they are learning about being part of a family now… and they are loving it! These siblings are shy and affectionate. They’ll make wonderful additions to some very lucky families.

Dandy

Dandy loves to snuggle and give sweet, sweet puppy kisses. He’s a little shy with new people and situations, but he’s getting braver and more outwardly social every day. He loves to romp and play - yet he’ll easily settle down when needed. He’s very lovable and cuddly, and he’ll be the most endearing and devoted buddy you could ever want.

Update from Dandy's foster mom:

Dandy is very friendly to all people and dogs. He can be quite shy - but mostly just in unfamiliar situations. He’s a bit more cautious towards things when they are new.

He’s very gentle when getting attention. When he rides, he sits on the floorboard of the car. He doesn’t hate going for rides, but just seems to be most comfortable in a low position if the car is in motion. He’s a very quick learner. I use positive reinforcement, as a reward not treats and he picks up things very quickly. And let’s not forget, he really loves the dog bed!
