Elsie is a sweetheart, a big sweetheart, who could stand to lose a couple of pounds. It's a good thing that this 3-year old walks perfectly on a leash because she could use a couple of trips around the block.
This lover of a Lab was brought into the shelter by Animal Control and we just knew her family was right behind her. But as the days wore on and no one claimed her, Elsie grew tired of running to the front of her cage and putting her feet on the fence to look for her family. When her time was up, Elsie was given the news that she was going to become a Squad Dog and she bolted out of that run and into her new car, probably faster than she's ever moved in her life.
Even though she is on the plus side, there are two things that make Elsie move - the sight of her leash and the turning down of the bed. As soon as she sees the leash, Elsie makes a beeline to the closest door so she can get outside and do her business.
The bed episode is a nightly learning opportunity. As soon as you get in bed, Elsie makes an incredible leap onto any size bed and looks absolutely heartbroken when you make her get down. So, when you're not looking, she tries it again, only to be reprimanded to the floor for the rest of the night.
Elsie is housebroken, good with kids, cats and dogs and is looking for a forever family that won't let her out of their sight!
