SquadDog Lucas

Lucas's story is very sad and all too familiar today. It's sad because he was raised since he was a puppy by a family who loved him. Unfortunately, his human parents were facing some hardships that forced them to move in with family members who could not take in Lucas. They wanted only the best for Lucas, a happy 8 yr-old yellow Lab, and reached out to find a rescue group that would ensure he found a loving home. This iss a case when the owners were truly devastated to have to leave Lucas in someone else's care. ADS wanted to help and promised that we would find Lucas an awesome, loving home.

Lucas is a "lover" and likes to give hugs and to be hugged. He loves to snuggle next to someone or lay across your feet when you are sitting on the couch. Lucas loves everyone and knows no strangers, canine or human. When he hears the garage door opening, he meets you at the door with a toy in his mouth and his tail wagging like crazy. He is all Lab.

This sweet boy is housetrained and will walk to the back door to let you know he wants to go outside. Lucas loves to go on walks, rides in the car and for runs in an open field. He gets along great with other dogs, loves exploring in the yard and lying in the sun on warm days. But most of all, he's an inside dog that loves to always be by someone's side. He followed his former owner like a shadow, laid beside her chair when she was on the computer, and even sat outside the shower door when she was showering. And by the way, he loves the hair dryer!

His former family wanted to be sure that everyone knew it was not Lucas' fault that the hardships they encountered caused them to find him a new home. He still loves to run and play, and is a wonderful dog that will bring much happiness to your life. He has been surrounded by a loving family all of his life and is looking to replicate that in a new family. If you looking for a dog that simply wants to be loved and give love, please consider adopting Lucas.
