Sam I Am just doesn’t measure up. Oh, we don’t mean that in a bad way. He’s just a real shorty. He’s a decent sized dog, just much shorter in stature than normal – a canine Hobbit, if you will. His looks are rather enchanting… He’s quite adorable.
Sam’s around 6-years-old, has an excellent temperament and he’s house-trained too. We think he’s a Bassador – an incredibly delightful combination of part Labrador Retriever and part Basset Hound. Honestly, it just doesn’t get much cuter than this. You just cannot have him in your home and not be smiling every day. He’s an all around great boy and he’s really looking forward to a permanent home and family of his very own.
Update from Sam's foster mom:
Sam thinks he’s a bigger dog than he really is. He’ll trip coming up the stairs since he thinks his legs are longer than they are. He gets along great with the cats. Even the kitten can’t get him to chase him. He’s very mild mannered around kids. He gets along fine with dogs. There’s no need to waste money on toys, he’s easily entertained with empty (and even full) water bottles. I can’t leave them on the ground because he’ll take off with them to chew on it for several minutes until they’re completely flat and no longer fun.
I haven’t had to crate him for quite some time now, but he’ll go into his crate very easily with a treat as a prompt. He’s a really nice boy.
