Schooner is rather quiet and shy when you first meet him but you would be too if the people you trusted most dumped you off at a boat dock in the dead of winter. Schooner and his three littermates are true survivors: keeping each other warm and sharing scraps for two weeks before a Good Samaritan called animal control.
Schooner thought he had a good life in the shelter until he was told that his brother and sisters were going to a foster home to be Squad Dogs. Now he has his own crate and his own toys, he absolutely loves playing with his canine and feline siblings. His favorite toy is his rope bone. He’ll carry it around the yard until he can entice someone to grab the other end and then he drags his playmate around the yard. Schooner is very gentle and slow on a leash; even a child could walk him. He shares all his belongings with his family, including his crate and bowl.
At only a year, he is a true gentleman. Schooner is crate trained and is putting the final touches on his house-training. He sleeps through the night without a peep in his crate and would do best in a relatively quiet home where he can learn to trust again. If you want the unconditional love of a gorgeous boy, be sure to meet Schooner.
