Sloan is a big, lovable gentleman. He’s around 5-years-old and quite a handsome chap – a rich dark chocolate boy with white neck and chest blazes. He really wants nothing but to give and receive lots of love. He likes to be touching you most of the time – and if he can have his head resting on you, all the better. This is one fabulous guy.
Update from Sloan's foster mom:
Sloan really is a big love-bug! He has that velcro personality - he just wants to be near you and if you stop moving, he'll nuzzle up to you for some hugs. When I massage his neck, he'll lay his head on my lap with his eyes half-closed and kind of sigh with contentment. And if you find the right spot to scratch his back near his tail, he does this funny little back and forth dance with his hind legs.
He has the best temperament - he gets along with everyone he meets, human and canine. I think he would be really happy to have a doggie sibling, but would fine as a solo dog as long as he was included as part of the family. He really, REALLY wants to play with the cat, but he's a little intimidating to her and when she runs away, he thinks it's an invitation to chase, so he's probably best in a home with no feline siblings. He's also really patient and lovable with my 8 and 6-year-old kids and all of their friends. People comment all the time on how gorgeous he is.... and don't let the little bit of white around his nose fool you, that's just part of his white neck and chest, he's still a young guy.
Sloan has terrific leash manners and he's trying really hard to learn "sit" and "stay" although those two are harder for him because he's just so dang happy all the time. He plays fetch and likes to run around, but is pretty calm inside the house.
Sloan is truly an awesome dog, and he can't wait to find his forever family!

Another Update from Sloan's foster mom:
Sloan is well behaved in the house and does well with dogs. He doesn't bark much but has a funny woof kind of bark when he does bark. He loves to sniff around the back yard and lies quietly by the door when he’s ready to come inside. He was quite shy at first, but he warms up and becomes a real love bug.
Sloan’s a very nice young man. He’s polite and deferential to all. He is house and crate trained. Likes all dogs and people and is always trying to please. He enjoys his kibble and his treats. He is a love sponge and wants to be a lap dog. He walks well on a leash.
Sloan would do well with most families. He needs affection and wants to be included in everything. He is a very nice dog.
