"Can I cuddle with you?" That’s Golden mix Desi’s favorite phrase. He loves it when you ask him and he loves it even more when you wrap your arms around him. He’s about one year old, extremely sweet and very well mannered.

He was brought into a local shelter as a stray – and adopted very quickly. The volunteers really loved him, so no one was surprised at how fast he got out. What really surprised everyone soon after though was that Desi’s new owner brought him back to the shelter after just a few days. He said Desi was a horrible barker and they wouldn’t keep him because he made so much noise. That seemed very odd… especially since he was known as a quiet boy by everyone. As a matter of fact, no one at the shelter had ever heard him bark. It seems that Desi’s owner locked him away from the family and expected him to be happy. But he was miserable... so he barked to try to get someone’s attention – anyone’s attention! He wants his new family to know that he loves to be a part of things, part of the family… He’s not a stuffed toy; he’s a wonderful fur-boy! And he needs regular love and attention.

Desi’s on the small side – only about 45 pounds or so – a perfect size. He has a typical Golden personality; he loves to be around people and soaks up as much affection as he can get. He’s good with other dogs too. This adorable, friendly boy is looking for an affectionate, playful home and family. He promises to be your best friend forever. And he keeps his promises.
