SquadDog Tabitha

Every once in awhile a dog really just grabs you. And sometimes, we have to look VERY hard to find some retriever in that dog because after all, Atlanta Dog Squad is an all-retriever rescue. Sometimes, that little bit of retriever can be a wonderful temperament. That's the case with sweet Tabitha, a 2 year old Lab mix who spent almost three months in a high-kill shelter and managed to work her magic to escape the fate of most Georgia black dogs. After you meet her, you'll see why the shelter works worked so diligently to find rescue for her.

Tabitha is on the smaller side, weighing in just shy of 50 pounds. But her heart is as big as any of the larger dogs we have saved. She walks well on the leash and takes treats so gently that we believe she would be great with small children. During her first visit with our vets, she was quick to give everyone in the room a very gentle, sweet kiss. She loves people and gets along with other dogs. When a person or dog would walk past the door of the examination room, her wonderfully "alert" ears would perk up. She is a smart girl and very aware of her surroundings.

If you are interested in a smaller dog with the loving, playful personality of a Lab, please meet our Tabitha. As soon as she starts to work her magic on you, we think you'll be under her spell and ready to take her home.
