Much like Lois Lane of Superman fame, this long-legged, raven-haired beauty is outgoing, bright and generally upbeat. She can definitely be enthusiastic when she wants attention, but also settles in nicely when spending time with people.
Lois is a 3-yr old black Lab mix who was found as a stray with Clark, another Squad Dog. Both dogs ended up in a rural shelter and no one came to reclaim them. ADS was lucky enough to save them from the fate most black dogs face in the animal shelters.
Lois is playful and would probably do well in a home with an active family that would make sure she never gets bored. She has a lovely temperament that you would expect from a young adult Lab and gets along well with the other dogs at the kennel. Like her namesake, she's sharp and will keep you on your toes. And she's definitely up for any adventure that you throw her way. What more could you want from a female sidekick?
Update from Lois' foster family:
Lois is such a sweet girl and her big brown eyes will melt your heart! She is very affectionate and loves to be right by your side. She is completely housetrained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She sits on command and at the sight of a leash or a treat. She has put on some weight and has filled out well. Meal time is definitely the highlight of the day.
Lois has a great temperament and can be happy chasing a ball or laying on her bed relaxing. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball, she can entertain herself for hours with one.
She has been to doggy daycare and the dog park and has done well with interacting with most other dogs. She lacks some self confidence but this is improving the more she gets comfortable with her surroundings and I think she might prefer being in a home where she is the only dog, or maybe with a male dog. Lois is really amazing and would be a perfect match if you are looking for a loving, playful companion.
