Mia turned 4 years old in April and is a very sweet girl who deserves a very special home. This is her second time as a Squad Dog. Mia came to be a Squad Dog the first time because her original owner had passed away. She has come back into the system a second time because her adoptive family went through some personal issues and could no longer keep her. Mia deserves her Forever, Forever home now.
Mia's foster mom says that she is in constant "vacation mode." She's not a high energy dog, although she does like a good long walk and riding in the car. But don't let that laid back attitude fool you. This girl has been known to jump a fence. And she is very afraid of thunderstorms. She'll get as close to you as she can and will shake during a storm.
Mia is not a barker. But she is a good guard dog -when she does bark, it’s a low, baritone bark. She loves soft fuzzy chew toys (she’ll carry them around wherever she goes and then chew on them softly while lying on her bed). Mia walks wonderfully on the leash, never tugs and doesn’t pay attention to others (dogs, etc.) while on her walk.
You can leave her alone in the house (letting her watch Animal Planet – her favorite TV station) and she will be waiting for you with her tail wagging when you get home.
Mia will chase cats. As for other dogs, if she is introduced to them properly, she plays fine with them. She does not do well when a strange dog approaches her and she does not know them.
In summary, Mia is a very sweet and loving dog. She would do very well as the only dog or with another one to keep her company when her humans are away. She’s not high energy, but loves to go for walks and just hang in the yard with her family. Mia needs a family who will love her and will commit to giving her a true forever home.
