Poppy is our sweet little lady that has had a rough start in life. Poppy was turned into animal control with her young puppy. The puppy was quickly adopted, but Poppy had heartworms so she was passed over for adoption time and time again, just waiting for someone to rescue her.
When ADS learned about how wonderful Poppy is, we had to make her part of the Squad. Poppy was so grateful to leave animal control that she repeatedly kissed the transport volunteer as if saying "THANK YOU!".
We think Poppy is a Flat-Coated Retriever mixed with Spaniel, and is about 2 years old. She is staying in a foster home while being treated for heartworms. While in her foster home, she is learning what it is like to be well-cared for. In fact, Poppy is really enjoying the simple things, like having a ball to play with.
Poppy is one of those rescued dogs that has experienced a hard life and is grateful for all of the things that come with being safe, warm and loved. Adopt Squad Dog Poppy and you will have a best friend for life, truly.
