SquadDog Shade

When we first met this young black Lab, we were amazed at how cool and collected he seemed -- so we named him Shade. He was never reclaimed from a local shelter, but that's their loss. This is one very good dog. He's on the shorter side, more like an English Lab, and seems to get along well with other dogs. Although he loves to chew on bones and toys, he takes treats with a very soft retriever mouth. Shade is quick to capture your heart. Read what his foster mom has to say about this happy-go-lucky guy:

Shade is a goofy, rambunctious, loving and extremely loveable young dog. He makes me smile every day with his antics. Whether it’s around the block on a leash or for a ride in the car, he approaches everything with gusto! Reach down to pet this guy and he literally melts to the floor for a belly rub. And his tail is wagging 24/7! He is a very happy dog.

He’s extremely obedient, and although I wouldn’t leave him unsupervised for very long, I know he’s a good dog. He has a very sweet temperament and would like nothing more than to snuggle up with you for a nap. He needs some help with his manners and could use some obedience training. He’s just a delightful, loving young dog! I can’t say enough good things about him!

At around 3 years old, Shade is a youngster and requires a home where his new family will give him the love and attention he so deserves. He’s an active dog who needs exercise and training to keep him in shape and to reinforce his good manners. If there’s a runner in the family, Shade will be your ready running partner! And all family members need to be aware that Shade delivers BIG WET KISSES
