SquadDog Swoozie

Swoozie is a small lab mix, about a year old. She's mostly house trained, spunky, bouncy, and just plain fun.

Word has it that this sweet baby spent her early life isolated on a porch without the care and love of a family. She was surrendered to an Atlanta area animal control. Probably because she missed out on early socialization with humans she is afraid of strangers. But even though she was neglected, she still turned out to be an angel with fur. She is selective about whom she trusts, but once she decides to love, she dives in with all four paws.

Her favorite thing to do is to curl up with her human and snuggle. But she also loves to go for car rides and play with other dogs. She is fascinated by her foster brother, "The Big Black Cat." She can't figure out what he is, and slinks around on her belly in awe whenever the cat appears.

She's not able to tell us in words about her early experiences, but her behavior speaks volumes. She has some special needs. She will probably need to go to a family with a quiet lifestyle, who is willing to work with her fear issues slowly and diligently. She also does better with the companionship of other dogs. While she waits for her forever home, she will be working on her fears with her foster mom and our ADS trainers. She has already shown a lot of improvement, and she can't wait for just the right person or family to come along and fall head over heels in love with her.
