SquadDog Twyla

Want to add a playful, friendly new member to your family? Meet Twyla.

Twyla is a 3-4 year old Chocolate Lab that was picked up as a stray by animal control. Because she was such a nice girl, and it appeared she was used to living in a home environment, animal control held onto Twyla until ADS had space to bring her into our program.

And, we are glad animal control helped us with Twyla. She is a fun, playful girl and gets along well with her entire foster family (human and canine). It appears that Twyla was used to living in a home as she is housetrained and has some house manners. See below for an update from Twyla’s foster family.

Update from Twyla's foster family:

Twyla - a.k.a. Taylor Tot is a very friendly girl. It took her a few days to warm up to her human pack members, but once she did, she now runs to greet us at the door and will come up and ask for attention and petting.

She is great with other dogs and loves to play with them. Her favorite thing in the world is fetching tennis balls! She will stay out in the yard as long as you are throwing a ball for her to catch and then will wait until she is finally convinced there are no more to throw.

She sleeps in the bedroom with her humans and her four foster brothers and sisters and sleeps through the night. She is not a big “kisser”, for those who do not care for wet dog kisses (can’t imagine who doesn’t like a big ole kiss from a labby baby), but when it comes to her water bowl – better have a large towel underneath it! You always know when Twyla has gotten a drink – a trail of water follows her.

Based on her energy level, she would probably be best with at least one other dog or an active family who wants her to be with them all of the time.
