SquadDogs Ritchie and Sara O

Ritchie

Sara O

Together Forever

Two sweeter souls you will never meet. This brother-sister team has been together since birth, and therefore, it's our hope that they can find a home where they can continue to live together. Like Stan & Ollie, Lucy & Ricky and peanut butter & jelly -- Ritchie and Sara just belong together.

Ritchie and Sara had their world turned upside down when their former owner lost her home. They were living with six other dogs, and unfortunately, when the owner was forced to move, she was forced to surrender four dogs, including Ritchie and Sara, to the local shelter. It was apparent that she loved and cared for all of her dogs, but like so many people facing difficult situations, she felt there's was no other way but to let them go. Although it was scary and confusing for Ritchie and Sara, at least they still had each other. When ADS saw their shelter photos and heard their story, we decided they needed another chance, and so they became Squad Dogs.

When you first meet this pair, it's obvious that Sara is the more dependent of the two. She is very shy at first and always looks to her brother for guidance and reassurance. Ritchie, on the other hand, would probably be fine on his own, although he did whine a little when Sara walked away at a recent adoption event. It is possible that both dogs would be OK in homes with another dog, but we are still hoping they can go to the same family.

Ritchie and Sara are 2-yr old Lab mixes with very gentle temperaments. Both appear to get along fine with other dogs, which is understandable because they spent their entire lives in a home with multiple dogs. While Sara is shy, she warms up to people once she feels comfortable. However, she doesn't do well getting into cars, and actually prefers the "valet" treatment -- that is, she likes to be physically lifted into the vehicle. It's a good thing she is petite.

While Ritchie isn't overly rambunctious, he is definitely a more out-going and confident youngster. He had quite the time playing with a plush stuffed toy at our last adoption event. Both Ritchie and Sara like people, and are hoping to find that special family who will adopt them both. After all, their motto is "if one is good, two is better." And these two darling dogs are certainly the best. If you are considering adding to your family, please be sure to meet our sweet duo.
